What is the
focus of Harvestfest?
|

Harvestfest is dedicated to providing a warm and friendly environment
for members of the Pagan and Heathen community to gather for the
purpose of shared learning, ritual, workshops and fellowship in a
wonderful outdoor woodland setting. The central theme of Harvestfest
centers on the creation of an effigy of the Corn King, and culminates
in his sacrifice during the main ritual. |
Who can
attend Harvestfest?

Harvestfest is open to all members of the Pagan and Heathen
communities world wide. |
Do I have
to make a reservation to attend Harvestfest, or can I just show up?
|

|
If
you intend to stay indoors, it is very important to reserve
(pre-register) your spot at Harvestfest. In order to reserve an indoor
accommodations, your registration fee must be prepaid and reach us no
later than 2 weeks prior to the festival. For your convenience, our
site is equipped to handle PayPal. |
|

It is suggested that you confirm the availability of indoor space by

accepted. |

Harvestfest held?

Where is
Harvestfest being held?
|

|
Harvestfest is held on the grounds of the Mansfield Outdoor Center
located about 1 hour north or Toronto and west of Barrie. See the
Directions page for maps and driving directions. |
What is the
cost of attending Harvestfest?
|

Please
check the registration page for details.. Children 2 and under can
come for free. The admission fee includes the costs of camping and all
workshops, and all rituals. |
Who do I
make payment for Harvestfest to?
|

|
Our
site is equipped to process PayPal payments (which is our preferred
method of payment). |
|

|
Please
make cheques and money orders payable "Wic-Can Fest". Remember to send
Canadian funds or US equivalent. We would ask our American friends to
send their payments in US funds (at the current exchange rate).

|

We
also accept registration and payment at the door if we have room. It
is definitely best to pre-register to avoid disappointment. |
|

Can I just
attend the festival for 1 day of the weekend?
|

|
If you
wish to attend the festival for a single day you are free to do so.
However, there are NO day passes for Harvestfest. If you plan on
attending the festival for only one day, you will be required to pay
full admission. |
How do I
reserve an indoor cabin space?
|

|
ALL
cabins are dorm style accommodations and sleep between 4 to 6 people.
In order to get a cabin, it is vital that you pre-register. The cabins
go very quickly and are portioned out on a first-come-first-serve
basis. NO EXCEPTIONS. It must also be stressed that those with
special needs who cannot camp outside will be given priority when
cabin space is being assigned. |
Does
Harvestfest provide food for its guests?
|

Yes,
we have a full service kitchen and dining hall. Meals are served twice
a day (brunch and dinner) for a nominal fee. Alternatively, you can
bring your own food and prepare it at your camp site.

Can I
create a fire pit at my campsite if one doesn't already exist there?
|

|
No!
It is absolutely forbidden to create new fire pits. You must use the
pre-existing fire pits. |
I have
children. Is Harvestfest child friendly?
|

|
Absolutely! Harvestfest is a family oriented festival. We have
several children and family oriented activities planned as well as a
number of other events to keep them busy and interested. The festival
site affords children a unique setting in which to explore their pagan
heritage in a safe and constructive environment.

NOTE TO PARENTS:
Children under the age of 10 MUST be accompanied
by a parent, legal guardian, or sitter at ALL times. It is not
permitted to allow your children to run wild on the site. Please be
responsible. |
How early
can I arrive on the first day of the festival?
|

|
You
must not arrive prior to noon (3:00 p.m.) on the first day of the
festival. If you do, you will be responsible for paying the day fee
as charged by the Mansfield Outdoor Centre (the owners) in addition to
the full cost of attending Harvestfest. |
What is the
weather like during Harvestfest?
|

The weather during early October in this part of Canada
is difficult to predict. Daytime temperatures are usually in the low
to mid teens (Celsius) or high 50's to low 60's Fahrenheit. Evenings
can be quite a bit cooler with temperatures below 0oC.

Are there
shower facilities at Harvestfest?

Yes,
we have showers that are available 24 hours a day. |
I have
musical instruments. Can I bring them to the festival?
|

|
Yes,
by all means do so. Music is a big part of all of the pagan and
heathen traditions. We do, however, ask that you not bring any
instruments that require electric amplification without asking us
first. |
Are there
many workshops and rituals for me to attend?
|

|
Yes,
we provide workshops, rituals and activities with an emphasis placed
upon arts, crafts and practical skills related to the harvest season.
|
I have a
workshop or ritual I would like to contribute to this years program. How
do I communicate this to the festival staff?
|

|
It is
very simple! First visit the "Add to Program" page, and follow the
instructions you find there. |
