The purpose of this FAQ is to address questions typically asked of us that are not specifically addressed elsewhere on the site. For example, this year’s festival dates, the program, and registration information and costs are dealt with on their own specific pages.

If you have a question that is not addressed either elsewhere on the site or in this FAQ, feel free to contact us. If your request for information is urgent, please make note of it in the subject line of your email. We get increasingly busy as the festival approaches so please be patient; we will make every effort to answer you in a timely manner.

What is the focus of Wic-Can Fest?

Wic-Can Fest provides a warm and friendly environment for members of the Pagan and Heathen communities to gather for the purpose of shared learning, ritual, workshops, and fellowship in a wonderful outdoor woodland setting.

Who can attend Wic-Can Fest?

Wic-Can Fest is open to all members of the Pagan and Heathen communities world wide and their friends.

Do I have to make a reservation to attend Wic-Can Fest, or can I just show up?

No, you don’t have to make a reservation but pre-registering is highly recommended. We have limited indoor cabin space and we work on a first-come-first-served basis. Once we are full, those wishing to pay at the door will be out of luck.

Pre-registration can be done via Credit Card, PayPal or by mail-in form. Our registration page details all of the packages we offer along with their associated costs. It is suggested that you confirm the availability of indoor space by phoning (705) 454-3077. However, no collect calls will be accepted.

How early can I arrive on the first day of the festival?

You must not arrive prior to 3:00 pm on the first day of the festival. If you do, you will be responsible for paying the day fee as charged by the Mansfield Outdoor Centre (the owners of the site) in addition to the full cost of attending Wic-Can Fest.

Where is Wic-Can Fest held?

Wic-Can Fest is held on the grounds of the Mansfield Outdoor Centre located about 1 hour north of Toronto and west of Barrie. See the Directions page for maps and driving directions.

Can I drink the water at the Festival?

Yes! All tap water is safe and you are encouraged to use onsite water rather than environmentally unfriendly bottled water.

I plan to camp outdoors. Can I create a fire pit at my campsite if one doesn’t already exist there?

No! It is absolutely forbidden to create any new fire pits. You must use the pre-existing ones or bring an above ground metal campfire basin including its screen (to suppress flying sparks).

I have children. Is Wic-Can Fest child friendly?

Absolutely! Wic-Can Fest is a family oriented festival. We have several children and family oriented activities planned and the festival site affords children a unique setting in which to explore their pagan heritage in a safe and constructive environment.

NOTE TO PARENTS: Children under the age of 12 MUST be accompanied by a parent, legal guardian, or sitter at ALL times. It is not permitted to allow your children to run wild on the site. Please be responsible.

What is the weather like during Wic-Can Fest?

The weather is difficult to predict. Daytime temperatures usually range from low 20s to high 20s, and can occasionally reach into the low 30’s (Celsius)... Evenings can be quite a bit cooler with temperatures in the low teens (Celsius). Rain is always a possibility — so it pays to be prepared — especially if you are camping out doors! The festival operates through rain or shine.

Are there shower facilities at Wic-Can Fest?

Yes, we have full, hot showers, bathrooms and public bathrooms availabe on site as well as outhouses in the camping areas. However, in the interest of water conservation, they are only available at designated times (to be posted).

I have musical instruments. Can I bring them to the festival?

Yes, by all means do so. Music is a big part of all of the pagan and heathen traditions. We do, however, ask that you not bring any instruments that require electric amplification without asking us first.

Vendors are welcome!

As a vendor, you will be expected to register and pay the same fees as all other participants. You will be able to vend as much or as little as you like and are welcome to attend any programmed events, at your discretion.

In order to keep folks from wandering through people's private campsites, there is ONE designated vending area, we call it the Marketplace. All vending takes place outside, you are responsible for your own setup and, according to our insurance, must have your own commercial liability insurance.

We have no particular rules about signage or POS materials as long as they do not create a safety hazard or impede movement through the camp.

Should you be interested in advertising in the program booklet; the rate is $100 per half page, payable at least 3 weeks before the festival with artwork sent in as well.

The sale of any alcohol is prohibited.
