Welcome to our site’s news and updates section.  The purpose of this page is twofold.  First, it will serve to keep you apprised of the changes we are making to the site, and secondly, it will serve as a staff notice board through which the festival staff and organizers will communicate news and information about the festival on an informal basis.

Please note that this page is arranged in descending order with the most recent news and updates at the top and older news and update items further down.

News:

The initial changeover to the 2007 Festival page has commenced.  Please stay tuned for further updates and changes.

 
April 16, 2006

News:

The Earlybird registration special has come to an end.  We would like to thank those who registered early -- we look forward to seeing you at the fest.

 
April 13, 2006

News:

There are only 2 days left in the EarlyBird registration special.  If you plan on attending, now is the time to register!

Site Update:

The guest section of the site has been posted.  Please note that this page will be updated on a regular basis, so check back often.

 
March 21, 2006 Site Update:

Online PayPal registration is finally up and running.  Register now because the Earlybird rates only last until April 15!

 
March 13, 2006 Updates, Additions, News:

  1. Due to popular demand, we have decided to continue issuing meal passes this year.  Meal passes will cost $55.00 Canadian.

  2. We have implemented "Earlybird" registration for adults attending the festival.  Adult registrations postmarked prior to April 15, 2006 will be as follows:  Adult camping $100.00.  Adult indoor accommodations (cabins) $120.00.  Adults registering after April 15 must pay the full $150.00 flat rate fee.

  3. New virtual registration form added to the registration page to reflect the changes detailed above. 
 Feb.18, 2006 Updates and Additions: 

Note: Wic-Can Fest will still be providing a FREE Feast on Saturday for all of our guests.  It should also be noted that we are in the process of determining the feasibility of providing "pay-as-you-go" meals for our guests.  We will inform you of our decision on this matter as soon as we have made it.

  • The driving directions to the festival site have been added to the site.

  • The printable PDF registration form (on the registration page) has been modified to fit on a single page.

  • The Festival Rules have been modified to reflect the requirements of the new festival site.

  • The festival FAQ section has been modified to reflect the requirements of the new festival site.
 January 27, 2006 Updates and Additions: 

  • Guestbook code configuration complete.  Guestbook uploaded to server and it is now online.

  • Message Board code configuration complete.  Message Board uploaded to server and it is now online.

Updates and Additions: 

  • Wic-Can Fest web site completely overhauled.  Implemented new web visual themes and design. 

  • Work started on new Guestbook code

  • Work started on site chat/bulletin board code.

  • Work started on Pay Pal implementation.

  • New 2006 Wic-Can Fest registration form for surface mail registration now online.

  • Changes made to festival rules and FAQ pages.

  • Work started on updates to Driving Directions.

January 24, 2006

Initial update to the Wic-Can Fest web site completed.

Areas still to be updated include:

  • Guestbook (not online yet)
  • Driving directions (online, but reflect location of old festival site)
  • The FAQ (online, but still some tweeking to be done)
  • The festival rules (online, but portions may be amended.
  • The online registration page (online with 2006 fees – this portion of the site may yet be amended
  • Pay Pal activation (yes, we are going to accept pre-registrations through Pay Pal starting this year)
  • Featured Guests (not online yet – keep tuned in).
  • Children’s Program (not online yet – keep tuned in).

Target Completion Dates:

  • Guestbook – 1-2 weeks.

  • Driving Directions – by the beginning of February.

  • The FAQ – 1 weeks time.

  • Pay Pal activation along with necessary code changes to the sit – mid February to early March.

  • Featured Guests – due to the nature of this page, it will evolve right up the week of the festival.  Of all of the pages on the site, this one is among the most important (and interesting) to keep an eye on.
